A local restaurant is said to have some of the best grilled cheese sandwiches in the United States.
Since I usually only write about desserts on my blog, let me fill you in on my thoughts on grilled cheese:
Who cares?
I can’t even remember the last time I ate grilled cheese. It has been years.
So why bother with grilled cheese from Grilled Cheese and Co? Two reasons.
- This description from the article: “After you bite into it, the cheese should stretch out past your face as far as your arm will reach.” Mmmmm…cheese.
- The restaurant is famous for its Crabby Melt grilled cheese. Mmmm…crab.
Crab and cheese together makes crab dip. And that, my blogger friends, is my favorite nondessert food.
This sammich was pretty yum-my. I would definitely go back.
PS: After reading the title, is this SpongeBob Squarepants theme song stuck in your head? It should be.
PPS: Who lives in a pineapple under the sea….
PPPS: I’m off to New Orleans with Blarney, so have a lovely weekend!

That looks scrumptious!! And looks like REAL crab, which is obviously a requirement in these here parts. Yummy.
Have a great time in the Big Easy!! Beware of the voodoo.
(Don’t forget to get my beignets).

I was going to bring you some, but I was afraid the powdered sugar would be mistaken for drugs.

I’ve heard of gourmet grilled cheese, but I don’t get it. Butter, bread, cheese, a non-stick skillet. It ain’t rocket surgery.

Have a great time in NOLA! I LOVE grilled cheese! OMG… cheese and bread. Two of my favorite food groups. And CRAB?!? Hello scrumptious!

O-M-G! it’s 9:30 am and I want one!
I never understood why people go to diners and order just a grilled cheese sandwich. Why? Get something you wouldn’t normally make at home. Why pay for something you can just as easily make yourself in the comfort of your own abode and pay nothing?

You had me at Crabby..

Mmm love a godo grilled cheese!

Let me get this straight: You just ate a crab grilled cheese and now you’re going to New Orleans?
Way to rub it in our faces, Thoughtsy.
That is seriously awesome!!!
Grilled cheese is one of my faaaavorite things. Any sort of bread and cheese really gets me a-grinnin’. I’ve made some pretty spectacular homemade grilled cheese/panini type things, but this place sounds just magical.

I just recently lived on grilled cheese and soup when I was sick with the crud. Tis true comfort food. A place dedicated to grilled cheese sounds so deliciously amazing.

I need to this sandwich!
I can’t stop hyperventilating!!!

YES that damn song is now stuck in my head. You planned for that to happen – don’t deny it. Have fun in the Big Easy, but don’t drink so much that they start calling YOU that.

Oh my god, I’m so old. I don’t even know the Spongebob Squarepants song. The only thing I know about Spongebob is that I hate his face.

I love grilled cheese… but not with American cheese
I love crab (but am sadly allergic)
I can only imagine what gooey amazeballsness that tasted like.
And I love SpongeBob Squarepants.

That looks really, really good.

That looks really good. So do a lot of the other items on the menu, but I have my doubts about the raspberry chocolate chip grilled cheese sandwich.

I saw that one, too. My initial reaction was “Mmmmm…sweet.” But I’m not sure about sugar on grilled bread.

I would eat grilled cheese every day. SO GOOD.

Who knew April is National Grilled Cheese Month?? That crabby melt does look awfully good.
March 23rd, 2012 at 8:15 am
I’m not a fan of grilled cheese, either from the eating it standpoint or cooking it. The sandwich just doesn’t do it for me.
March 24th, 2012 at 11:32 pm
Sounds delish! Now, can you include the recipe??

Mmmmm. I love grilled cheese sammies. Never had a fancy one with crab in it, though. That just takes to a whole ‘nother level.
Have fun in NOLA!
